Selling on Depop: a UK reseller guide
How Depop works for UK sellers: the audience, what sells, the fees with a worked example, and how deteqta helps you price it.
Who it is for. Depop skews young, with a Gen Z and millennial audience that shops by aesthetic. It is social and visual, closer to a feed than a shop.
What sells well. Trend led streetwear, vintage, y2k, reworked and curated pieces. Strong photos and a consistent look do a lot of the selling.
The fees, plainly. UK sellers pay no selling fee. You do pay a payment processing fee of about 2.9% plus £0.30 per sale, and Boost (optional paid visibility) costs extra only if a boosted item sells. Buyers pay a marketplace fee on top of your price.
Worked example: sell a top for £20. There is no selling fee, but processing of about 2.9% plus £0.30 comes off, so you keep roughly £19.12 before postage.
How it works. Payments run through Depop’s own system and pay out to your bank a day or two after the sale. Good photos and tags drive discovery.
How deteqta helps. Deteqt the item for the most to pay, a target sell price from real sold prices, and your profit after fees, plus whether Depop suits that exact item. If it does, deteqta drafts a punchy Depop style listing.
